It's ready for the binding, but that's the reason it is on my design wall and not in my hot little hands having the binding attached. I am trying to decide what to use for the binding. I thought about the same black that is in the quilt, but I think that will be boring. I only have bits and pieces of the fabrics that I used for the twisting pinwheels and I don't want to buy anything new. After trimming the backing fabric, I decided that I do have enough left over to use that for the binding, and even though it is directional and has words printed on it, I think it'll be fine. I like that the background is black and that there are lots of colors in it. Regarding the words printed on it, I think that since you're only going to see 1/4" it won't matter. What do you think?
Update: The quilt is finished! Check it out here.

ReplyDeleteI love the backing fabric, and I think it will make great binding.
ReplyDeleteI think that the words will be so tiny in the binding that they will just show as bits of color or perhaps a letter or two!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE how you used the twister for your border. The cats fabric is fantastic as well and should work well as your binding.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt, especially the border--very creative!!
ReplyDeleteI think the cats fabric you are using for the back will be terrific as binding-all you are going to see is color anyway.
