Although I am not celebrating in any special way today, I am proud to be an American.
I am thankful and proud to honor the courageous men and woman who have served in all branches of our military. Because of you, I am able to enjoy freedom.
Thank You!
It's Monday, and that means it's time to show what's on my design wall.
Since it's July 4th, I've pulled out some old star blocks that I have and I'm going to work on finally getting them into a quilt.
I have twenty-four of these 6" friendship star blocks and they've been sitting in my tub of shame (A.K.A. - UFO tub) for a very long time. I'm playing with options, but I think I'm going to frame each block with some of this red and them put them together with a light background fabric. If I've done my math correctly, I should be able to make this work and have it fit the requirements for a Quilt of Valor. I'm going to double check my math, be sure I have enough of all the fabrics and get moving on this right after I finish the small quilt that is up on the design wall right now.
I've been busy on a couple of projects that are kind of secret. Since I said kind of secret, I'm sharing one with you, but not why it's being made. Sorry; you'll have to wait until next week for that info. I gave a sneak peak at another one of these projects the other day when I posted this picture.
Are you sewing this July 4th?
Check out what other quilters have on their design wall.
Go to Judy L's Patchwork Times
and
Very fun projects up on your design walls. Have a very happy 4th.
ReplyDeleteI like the purple one so much. I have been thinking that I'll have to get a design wall in the future. Yours looks to be soft, kind of like a sheet. I never thought much about them before, but I guess I'll have to shop and see what is out there.
ReplyDeleteNo sewing on the 4th for me. I spent most of the weekend calming dogs from boomer fright.
